Fun Facts About Me
(and maybe a few weird ones, too)

-Off the top of my head and without looking anything up, I can name every Heisman Trophy Winner, Super Bowl winner and loser, World Series winner and loser, and NCAA Basketball National Championship game winner and loser since 1980.

-I have been playing the drums since I was in 3rd grade, still own a set and play it on occasion.  I was awarded my high school's lone "Jazz Performer of the Year" my senior year in high school.

-I enjoy almost every genre of music.  I'm a huge Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley fan, and my favorite all-time bands are U2, Van Halen (especially with David Lee Roth), and Buffalo's own The Goo Goo Dolls.

-I played the lead role of Conrad Birdie in my high school's production of "Bye, Bye, Birdie."  I used to go straight from baseball games or practice to show rehearsal, still wearing my uniform and eye black.

-I was one of 50 finalists to be on the very first season of the CBS reality show "Big Brother."

-I had an interception playing at Ralph Wilson Stadium (then called Rich Stadium), the home of the Buffalo Bills, during the NYS Class C Championship Game (a WIN!) in high school.

-I stay active by playing in a men's flag football league.  The league I play in has several players who have played in the NFL, NFL Europe, and major Division-I college football.

-I never swung a golf club until I moved to Florida in 1995.  Since then, however, I've come to love the game and love playing on some of the finest courses in Southwest Florida.

-I throw a ball and write with my right hand.  However, I swing a baseball bat, a golf club, and a hockey stick all left-handed.

-I own a 3-year old Boxer/American Bulldog mix.  He is named Willis, after former Buffalo Bills running back Willis McGahee.  (his picture appears on this page).  The Bills traded McGahee to Baltimore two years after I named him.  But Willis' name hasn't changed!

-Either as a fan or a member of the media, I have attended the Stanley Cup Finals, four AFC Championship Games, the 1st round, 2nd round, Sweet 16, Elite 8, and National Championship Game in college basketball, two NFL drafts, and two World Series' (including the game where Roger Clemens threw the bat at Mike Piazza in the Subway Series in New York).  I look forward to covering and/or attending many more games, series', and tourneys in my life.

-I love going to Las Vegas, usually stay at the NY, NY Hotel and Casino, and Craps is my game of choice.  However, I do enjoy almost all table games and video poker.  Slots are for amateurs.

-My brother, John, has a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon.  Yes, that means he's a "Duck."  I am very proud of him!  But it still makes me laugh when I hear the words, "Dr. Capaccio."
